Christian Family Church International in Cape Town, South Africa was founded by Pastor Steve and Gill Barry in May of 1991. After having served faithfully for twelve years under Pastor Theo & Beverley Wolmarans at Christian Family Church - Johannesburg, the Lord called Steve & Gill to move to Cape Town to start a church. This was confirmed by the Lord to Pastor Theo & Beverley who sent them out with God’s blessing.

The church was launched with a Miracle Healing Crusade at the Muizenburg Convention Center from May 13th – 17th 1991 where Pastor Theo preached God’s Word and prayed for the sick. The response was supernatural as hundreds of people were healed and the crowds grew until the building was packed with people by the last night. In total, over 250 people came forward for salvation during this inaugural crusade.

The first church service was held on Sunday 19th May following the Miracle Healing Crusade in a small rented hall above a convenience store on Atlantic Avenue in Muizenburg. Almost a hundred people showed up for the first Sunday service and the church continued to grow supernaturally. Within eighteen months the church had two Sunday morning services with 200 people crammed into each service.

Pastor Steve & Gill realized that a bigger building was needed to accommodate the growing congregation. In 1993 the church moved to its current location at Celie Road in Steenberg Industrial Park, a converted warehouse that seats 900 people. The church continued to grow and soon had over 2000 members. Multitudes have been saved, healed and delivered by Jesus at CFC Cape Town and all the glory goes to God.

In 1999 the Lord called Pastor Steve & Gill to move to the USA to establish Christian Family Church in Jupiter, Florida. They remain the Senior Pastors of CFC Cape Town and travel back there several times a year.

The Lord has raised up many faithful dedicated people to help build the church who work alongside Pastor Steve & Gill.

Christian Family Church is a church with dynamic praise and worship, powerful Bible teaching, strong prayer and the demonstration of power of the Holy Spirit. It is a church where all are welcomed and loved. It is a church that caters to the whole family with a dynamic children’s and youth ministry.
